The lake

Temple was the newest of the four lakes, built in 2002 at a cost the former operator gave as £350,000 [Operator site, 26 October 2026]. It does not appear on the fishery’s own pages captured in early 2002, which describe three lakes [Archive, 21 March 2002].

The fishing

It was run as a specimen carp water. The former operator described more than a dozen fish over 30 lb and carp over 40 lb [Operator site, 26 October 2026]. Photo captions on the operator’s site name individual carp such as “Nemo” and “Friar Tuck”, and a 39 lb 10 oz ghost carp from December 2015, though they do not always say which lake each came from.

Closure

From March 2023 the remaining lakes were fished on day membership rather than open day tickets [Operator site, 26 October 2026]. The venue closed completely in February 2025 [Report, December 2025]; anglers were already posting farewells that month [Report, February 2025]. The full sequence is in the Closure Record.
